The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has hinted at a possible breakthrough to end the US-Iran war. Speaking while on a four-day tour in India, Rubio stated that President Donald Trump is going to give diplomacy every chance to succeed.
“As the President said, he is not in a hurry, he is not going to make a bad deal. I mean, the President is not going to make a bad agreement. So let’s see what happens. We are going to give diplomacy every chance to succeed before we explore the alternative”, said the US Secretary of State.
The Iranian Government is yet to respond. President Trump expressed his optimism, stating that Washington and Tehran had largely negotiated a memorandum of understanding aimed at restoring peace and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which serves as an important maritime corridor that handles the shipment of natural gas and global oil.

Despite the significant progress made, the two nations remain divided over Iran’s nuclear program, Tehran’s insistence on sanctions relief, unfreezing of billions of dollars in foreign-held oil revenues, and Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
